Walk-and-Talk Therapy

takes therapy outside, allowing for movement-based sessions rather than sitting in an office or behind a screen. Research shows that movement can help reduce stress, increase focus, and improve emotional processing. For clients who feel stuck, restless, or overwhelmed, walking while talking can make it easier to express emotions and organize thoughts. Therapy doesn’t have to be confined to four walls— Whether we’re walking in a park, a quiet urban space, or simply integrating mindful movement into our work together, this approach can help regulate the nervous system and bring clarity.

DBT Skills

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a structured approach that helps people manage intense emotions, develop distress tolerance, and improve interpersonal skills.

I integrate DBT skills into sessions to help you:

  • Regulate overwhelming emotions without shutting down or spiraling.

  • Communicate needs and set boundaries in relationships.

  • Cope with distress in a healthy way (instead of numbing out or acting impulsively).

  • Develop mindfulness and self-awareness to break unhelpful patterns.

If you struggle with emotional intensity, black-and-white thinking, or impulsivity, DBT gives you the tools to stay grounded and in control, even when life feels chaotic.

Breathwork, Somatic Stretching & EFT Tapping

These are mind-body approaches designed to regulate the nervous system, release stored trauma, and reduce stress.

  • Breathwork uses intentional breathing techniques to increase relaxation, emotional release, and mental clarity.

  • Somatic Stretching focuses on releasing tension stored in the body due to trauma or chronic stress.

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping) is a form of acupressure that helps reduce anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and distress by tapping on meridian points.

When feeling stuck in your head, disconnected from your body, or overwhelmed by emotions, we’ll incorporate these practices to help you recenter and regulate in real-time. Whether it’s guided breathwork to ease anxiety, tapping through distressing thoughts, or using movement to release tension, these techniques support emotional processing in a way that is natural and embodied.

Ready embark on your journey?

Mentally Flourishing’s strives to uphold our mission to keep therapy accessible, affirming, and —not just another task on your to-do list. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just trying to make sense of life, therapy with me is about the intersection of mindful processing, turning inward and attuning to your body, a little kiki, and strategies uniquely tailored to you.

Healing isn’t about "fixing" yourself—it’s about understanding yourself, making peace with the past, and learning to navigate life in a way that feels aligned and empowering. My approach combines structured, evidence-based techniques with holistic, movement-based, and relational healing practices, creating a space where you can explore, grow, and heal at your own pace.

Attachment & Relational Healing

Attachment theories explore how early relationships shape our ability to connect, trust, and feel secure in relationships. Unresolved attachment wounds can show up as emotional avoidance, anxiety, people-pleasing, or difficulty trusting others.

  • We explore your relational patterns to understand how past experiences impact your present relationships.

  • We work on building secure attachments (whether in friendships, romantic relationships, or within yourself).

  • If relationships feel exhausting or confusing, we’ll identify and shift old patterns so you can feel more balanced, emotionally safe, and connected.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a powerful trauma-processing technique that helps access and heal deeply stored emotional pain. It uses eye positioning to locate and release unresolved trauma, bypassing the rational brain and working directly with the body’s stored experiences. When feeling emotionally stuck, Brainspotting allows us to go beyond talking and directly access where trauma, anxiety, or distress lives in your body. By identifying “brainspots” linked to your emotional pain, we help your brain process and release what’s been holding you back—whether that’s past trauma, OCD distress, or overwhelming emotions.

OCD & Anxiety Treatment (ERP & ACT)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold-standard treatment for OCD, helping you face fears, break compulsive cycles, and regain control over intrusive thoughts. ERP helps you confront intrusive thoughts in a structured, manageable way, reducing compulsions and avoidance behaviors that reinforce fear and distress.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) teaches psychological flexibility, helping you accept uncomfortable emotions rather than fighting them, so you can live in alignment with your values. I use ACT to help you navigate uncertainty, self-doubt, and overthinking without getting stuck in avoidance or control-based patterns. Instead of constantly battling thoughts, you’ll learn to let them come and go without letting them dictate your actions.
